People often ask me, "So, how's real estate going?" Well, quite frankly, it depends on the day. Part of the appeal of this career is the variety. No two days are alike, no two years are alike. Sometimes you are at the top of the roller coaster, and sometimes you are on a curve or an incline. When you invite me to help you buy or sell a home, we get to ride that roller coaster together. My job is to help make it the least stressful experience possible. Buckle up!
I pride myself on being genuine. With no sales pitch coming around the bend, you get to be heard. Ask your questions, and I will listen and give you the best, honest answers I have. If I don't know, I'll try to find out by resourcefully utilizing the expertise of lenders, tradespeople, and other experts in their fields.
Another part of my job is being flexible. If you want to go look at a house and I'm in my painting clothes, I figure you'd rather see the house than be delayed by me changing outfits. Sure, I'd prefer to look professional, but I also strive to respond when it suits my clients. There's a balance.
If you choose to work with me, you'll get a healthy dose of humor. The things we see in homes can be downright hilarious or puzzling. One time a client was convinced she had found a metal cage for trapping critters in a basement. I looked and figured out it was a metal insert from a bread drawer. At the next house, she opened a kitchen drawer and burst out laughing as she said she found the "critter trap." Another time I learned that a client's mom got it stuck in her head that my name was Lorraine. Naturally, I began signing my emails and texts with "Love, Lorraine."
Keeping the Real in Real Estate means being myself. I've found it helps clients feel comfortable, it earns and keeps trust, and it smooths the way for working well with my colleagues. With 900 real estate agents in our area, I have the freedom to steer clear of trying to be all things to all people. My gift to you is my work ethic, humor, and reliability. If you want a power suit or fancy sales pitch, I can refer!
There is no end to the information floating around about real estate. Interest rates, staging strategies, market values, you name it. I am here to deliver that information when you need it. But in the meanwhile, I hope you'll enjoy my blog about some fun, endearing, or interesting things that happen to me in real life real estate.
